I recently went through some shit and the good thing to come out of it all was a song, full of raw emotion and passion. I decided that I wanted to do this song justice because it was so personal to me, so I got in touch with a couple of pro recording studios with a view to recording it to release-standard quality and maybe bringing it out as a single. Again, all of this was for ‘me’, for my personal satisfaction but if people bought it that would be cool. HOWEVER… Since I spoke to a couple of these studios (by e-mail) about recording this song and releasing it as a single, I have written ANOTHER song (similar in subject matter) which has totally taken me by surprise how it has turned out SO I AM GOING TO RECORD AND RELEASE THAT ONE INSTEAD! Unlike most of my other songs, this new one sounds very, very mainstream (I have done a rough recording with all the intended instruments and vocals and it is very ‘indie-pop’) so I am using my head rather than my heart – if I am going to spend alot of money to record and release a single, it is better to release something that has wider appeal than the originally intended song that is more personal and heartfelt but would probably not do as well.
